First of all, because Setthapong can't concentrate properly or having a nostalgic feeling during his meditation,so Tearlach decided to eradicate Luang Pa Chawan in order to enhance his Setthapong's ability and earn loyalty from Setthapong. For every action there is a consequence. I think if Tuyen can successfully poison Lunag Pa Chawan and Setthapong realizes it, I think he will be very sad and unable to meditate anymore. Then Tearlach will try to relieve him which will not gonna make him feel any better. I guess eventually Setthapong will realize Tearlach's craziness and turn against him. According to the universal theme, Setthapong will absolutely lose to Tearlach because the only person who can beat Tearlach is Cody.

In this chapter, Tearlach decided to murder the monk or Luang Pa Chawan, because he see that Luang Pa Chawan is the distraction for Settaphong. Settaphong is attached to the monk, so Sattaphong will always want to go and visit Luang Pa Chawan. This is a distraction to Settaphong's training. To miss the monk is an obstacle of concentration which block Settaphong from development. Settaphong was in danger when he astral projecting to Luang Pa Chawan, because his soul stay out of the body for too long which it almost kill him. Tearlach sending Tuyen to kill the monk by put the poison into the food and the monk will get sick. No one will know that he's sick because of the poison, but old age. Tearlach think of the long term effect, becuase this will help Settaphong to become stronger and much develop, because there is no obstacle which block his concentration. Settaphong will only focus on his training. Even though, at first when Settaphong know that Luang Pa Chawan pass away he will sad and shock and maybe don't want to do anything, but when time pass by he will getting better and continue to focus on his training.

Because Setthapong is very attached to Luang Pa Chawan, Tearlach then had an idea of eliminating Luang Pa Chawan from his life. It is true that Setthapong's loyalty and respect to the monk is no wrong. But the problem that Tearlach oversees is that the attention Setthapong gives to the monk distracts and obstructs his development. In this chapter, he almost died because he visited the monk even though he was already overtrained. With the hope of making Setthapong stronger and more independent, Tearlach sent Tuyen to Thailand to poison Luang Pa Chawan's food. The poison will be undetectable and that people will insist that the monk died of liver failure. If Luang Pa Chawan dies, Setthapong would be in great sorrow. As a result, Setthapong might focus more on the astral projection training in order to distract himself away from sadness. It is likely that he will become a whole lot stronger and colder. He seems to be the kind of person who pushes oneself very hard. The solution of this would be that Tearlach gains more loyalty and respect from Setthapong because Tearlach is now his mentor instead of the monk. Setthapong would honour Tearlach as his mentor for a while, but it could change if he finds out the truth that Tearlach was behind the case of Luang Pa Chawan's death.

This is for the good of Setthapong. Distraction is the worst enemy when it comes to the thing you have to achieve. In other word, it obstructed one from reaching their true potential. It is even more crucial for astropath, as distraction can mean life or death for the astrotraveler them self. Now, no suprise that Setthapong missed Luang Pa Chawan; because he is like a father to him, raised him and taught him so much. Unfortunately, in order for Setthapong to reach his true potential and grow individually as a man, he must eliminate these distraction. Tearlach knew this must be done, and have no choice but to "dispose" Luang Pa Chawan even thought it isn't personal. I recently watched a very good movie called Whiplash. It revolve around a drummer whose dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential. In the movie, he must eliminate all the possible factor that will halt his drumming skill including his connection with other including his girlfriend. Eventhough these "obstacles" are hard to completely get rid of since it grow so much on the individual, but one must stop at nothing to reach true success. For this the consequence will be hard for Setthapong himself. This will affect him to an emotional level, to the level that will change him forever. He might be depress, sad , and grief for a day or two, but after all that he will become a changed man. In my opinion, i think that he will be stronger physically and emotionally. One who recover from a significant amount of pain will eventually become twice as strong as the were before. Another thing that changes is that Setthapong will have no fear. Since he had recover from his worst fear, he can fear no more. Frankly i think that he might thanks Tearlach for killing his love one (assuming he tells the truth to Setthapong afterward)as it bring so much lesson for him. Lastly, his perspective of love one and family will also change. After all, this is his new FAMILY. he already gave in to the path of the astropaths, which will require a lot of sacrifice including giving up past love one or family. So, in conclusion, these significant change on Setthapong not only help him to get rid of his past, allowing him to be fully devoted to the way of astroprojection, but it also evolve him to become even a greater and stronger person overall.

Tearlach made decision to kill Luang Pa Chawan despite the fact that his student, Settapong, is really attached to Luang Pa. Tearlach had an idea that in the future, Luang Pa will become a great distraction for Settapong because Settapong thinks of Luang Pa not only as a teacher but also family member. Not only Luang Pa can be harm to Settapong studies but the strong relationship between Luang Pa and Settapong may disrupt Tearlach plan because Settapong admired Luang Pa more than Tearlach. The death of Luang Pa, will keep Settapong focuses on the training for Tearlach because Tearlach's family is only thing he left to protect. The only thing Tearlach need to do after Settapong is stronger, is to protect the secret that Tearlach was the one who killed Luang Pa not the liver failure. Moreover, the death of Luang Pa will help Settapong to be more mature because he realized how painful it would be to loss beloved one and he will be able to handle and control his feelings more.

We all have weaknesses no matter who or what we are. Astropaths do have weaknesses too. I think our weakness is the ability to love. Setthapong loves and respects his teacher, Luang Pa Chawum. It's a human nature. Luang gave Setthapong feelings of love and family, which are what human beings are seeking for. Tearlach is cold-hearted man. He could do whatever it takes to make his student a better and a stronger astropath. Tearlach sent Tuyen to kill Luang by putting the poison in the food. Setthapong has no one to look up to. He has no place to visit. Setthapong almost killed himself because he was visiting Luang for too long. Tearlach did this because Setthapong will feel that Tearlach is the only family member left for him and that he will be focused on in his training. Becuase Setthapong is in a confusing status, he may do anything that Tearlach said. One can feel that a cold man can turn into a very warm man when he is left with no one. For me, I feel that Tearlach is doing something that's gonna change other people's lives. It's not just a change, but a consequence.

There are a lot of things that can distract human's process of learning, concentration and development. One of the example of this chapter is the love that Setthapong gave to the monk he respect so much and always went out to visit him. That will affect Setthapong by taken more time for him to get stronger. This thing annoyed Tearlach, the teacher so much, because he wanted Setthapong to become stronger and concentrate more about his learning. The result of this was killing the distraction by poisoning the monk. So that Setthapong doesn't have to go to visit the monk and have more time to practice his power of astropath and become stronger so that Tearlach's plan will be success.
This will definitely shocked Setthapong and dropped him to the lowest point of his life and he might thought that life has no meaning after losing his love. But the smart teacher will use this point as the opportunity to control his mind by making him calm and gave him love, and he will fell into Tearlach plan of controlling the life of his student.

Tearlach decided to kill Luang Pa Chawan because Setthapong was attached to this monk. Setthapong love and respect him. Setthapong visited Luang Pa Chawan by using his power, but he almost died because he stayed out of his body for a long time that his soul will completely separate from his body. Tearlach think that it is a distraction for Setthapong because the training require concentration, but if he still concerning and missing this monk it will affect his skill development. Tearlach has decided to send Tuyen to Thailand to kill Luang Pa Chawan by putting the poison in his food and let him died slowly. After that, Setthapong will lose the connection with the monk and he will focus and concentrate more on the astral projection training. Setthapong will also be more loyal to Tearlach. Even though he may suffer from the death of the monk, but this will make him stronger.

In chapter 17, Tearlach wanted Setthapong's loyalty so he decided to kill Luang Pa Chawan, Setthapong's old and respected teacher. Setthapong is currently having two teachers and he doesn't know which one he should listen to. In order to gain total control over Setthapong, Tearlach decided that killing Luang Pa Chawan is a necessity. Tearlach poisoned Luang Pa Chawan. After Luang Pa Chawan's death, Setthapong has no where to go so he chose to be loyal to Tearlach. This would affect Setthapong in both bad and good ways. On the bad side, Setthapong would be emotionally affected by the loss of his old and respected mentor. Also, with Tearlach having full dominance over Setthapong, Tearlach might turn Setthapong into a cold-blooded killing machine. On the contrary, the good side is that Setthapong can now focus on one teacher and become even more stronger after he recovers from the loss of Luang Pa Chawan.

Tearlach's willing to do anything he has to to establish a full control over Setthapong. Setthapong is too attracted to this monk, Luang Pra Chawan. Although Tearlach knows that by killing Luang Pra Chawan Setthapong will be remorseful, he still needs to kill the monk because the monk is a distraction to Setthapong's training. Setthapong almost becomes seperated from his body because he uses his power too much to go to see the monk. In this way, Setthapong will have no more attraction to the past and can continue training to become a strong astropath. The death of the monkey will change Setthapong greatly. First, he will be sad. However, Setthapong will have noone else to believe except for Tearlach, so Tearlach will have a full control over him. Setthapong can also concentrate more to become a stronger astropath. Chakara

Tearlach just want to get rid of whatever thing that is bothering Setthapong while he was trainig, because he views that those distraction will slow Setthapongs process of practicing, so he decides to get rid of Setthapongs mentor Laung Pa Chawan. The reason he does this is because Tearlach wants to establish an absolute control over Setthapong. As he almost becomes separated from his human body by astral projecting to go see his former mentor, so as a solution Tearlach needs to kill him in order to make Setthapong concentrate even more. The death of Luang Pa Chawan will affect greatly on Setthapong in a sad way, but eventually he will have no one to believe in so that he can focus on Astral projecting and that would make him became stronger and believe fully in Tearlach.

Tearlach decided to take care the monk in order to eliminate Satthapong's distraction. By that time, Settapong still always has his mind on the monk. The example that support the previous sentence is when Settapong astral projected to the place where monk live. However, the distance of his current location and the monk's place is too far away from each other. He almost lost himself while astral projecting to the monk., but good luck that Tearlach and Tuyen came in time. So Tearlach decided to eliminate his student's distraction and able to gain fully control on his student, he ordered tuyen to travel all the way to the monk's place and poison him. His poison will take 3 days before it actually killing the monk. So then no one would suspect him for the murder. i Think that this situation might distract Tearlach by bringing him supreme sadness. However, he would be able to get the monk out of his mind and able to put his full concentration toward the astral projection lesson. Since the monk is only his worry, he would be able to transform into a cool blood killing machine that has nothing to lose anymore.

From the "Astropath" CH.17, Tearlach plotted to assassinate Sethapong's childhood mentor, an ordinary monk, in order to eliminate Seth's only obstacle during his training. It was told that Seth almost lost his conscious during the time he astral projection to see the monk. The goal of this assassination is not only get rid of Seth's distraction, but also to took sole control over Seth and use him to served as his obedient servant. By doing so, Tearlach plot to poisoned the monk by using his power, astral projection. However, if the monk suddenly die, it would be too obvious, so he need to retard the time before poison works. If monk died, Seth will eventually lost his mind and might lost his way. In my opinion, if the mind of astropath is broken then how should he use his power also, in the near future, Seth might found out the truth and opposed Tearlach thus, killing monk might only brought negative effects to the mastermind.
